Projects > Cayuga Power Plant

370 cfs with 0.75 mm slots
16-ISI D83-120 Vert Screens
To Be Installed in Fall 2016

Client: USNYPP
Engineer: Makai Ocean Engineering
Location: Cayuga Lake, Lansing, NY

Background: The 245 MW generating facility needed to comply with new intake screening regulations mandated by EPA 316(b) and the NY DEC. The plant currently diverts unscreened cooling water from a 44 foot deep lake intake.
Solution: ISI's Electric Drive brush-cleaned cylindrical screen system was selected as the project's preferred alternative. The vertically oriented cylinders are placed on a distributed manifold that equally distributes flow through each of the screen units with minimal headloss.
